Chingu means best friend in the dialect of Iki Island. To produce Chingu Kuro, we use two-rowed barley from our home region of Iki and six-rowed barley from Nagasaki prefecture. This shochu consists of koji made from Iki rice (black koji is used to make the koji) and finished through normal pressure distillation. The use of black koji increases the aroma of the barley and enriches the flavor. We recommend you enjoy Chingu Kuro on the rocks or with hot water.
