In 1983, we commercialized vacuum-distilled 100 % sweet potato shochu for the first time in Japan. This has realized an easy-to-drink shochu, where a smell unique to sweet potatoes is reduced and unpleasant taste is eliminated. Obisugi, which was produced in this way, is popular from inside and outside the prefecture as a refreshing and drinkable shochu.
Attention to water
In the premises of Inoue Shuzo, there is Yowara Spring, recognized as one of Miyazaki Prefecture’s Selected 21 Exquisite and Well-Conserved Waters. We use this quality natural water for preparation and for water added to shochu before bottling.
