This junmai (pure rice) black koji shochu is made exclusively with carefully selected Kumamoto-grown rice, pure underground water from the Kuma River system, and black koji. It features a mellow richness and subtle sweetness unique to black koji. It is quite rare to use black koji in rice shochu made with reduced-pressure distillation. You can enjoy it on the rocks, with water, or with sparkling water. During colder seasons, we recommend mixing it with hot water to bring out its rich fragrance.
